This week was fun, being Saturday right now, I'm just recapping.

I got my shipment of clothes that I bought some time ago on Friday so that was neat. Had to try everything on.

I didn't mention that like a week ago I submitted my Haunted Mansion Model from the movie into a Scholastic National Art and Writing Competition. It was a last second thing really in my art class when my teacher said that she got an email and forgot all about it. So some of us art veterans (Ha Ha, I like that) were scrambling to find our art around the room so that we could send it with a parent to get it to a building somewhere to be submitted. We also had to register online and type a 300 word artist statement about our pieces, so we were going crazy over that too, being that now we had to go to a computer lab sometime in the next 4 hours of school and type an essay.

But it was really fun though that day. I finished the essay thing and turned it into the one of the parents after school. I submitted the entire model.

On Wednesday my art teacher came to me before school and said that my model got a "Silver Key Award" for the Regionals ranking. Sweet. I didn't know if that included some sort of scholarship or anything but it was cool. And I think it was like 2000 pieces were submitted into the regionals and like a few hundred were chosen to be "Gold Key", "Silver Key", and "Honorable Mentions".

All the art was showcased at an art college in town and was really cool to see my thing sitting on a pedestal. Some people came by and looked at it and I heard some comments about it. It was really cool.

And the "Silver Key Award" included a certificate and a silver key pin, that I wore the next day. No scholarship but it will probably look good to colleges to say that I got the award though. Think I will probably submit a portfolio for it next year with some models, supposedly that's how you get scholarships.

And I finished another model and today I'm going to go to school with some friends so that we can work on our paper mache dinosaur that we are working on for a play. It's really big. I might bring my camera today and upload some pictures tonight of it so far.
